Sponsored by The Bait Box, 122 High Street, Evesham WR11 4EJ
01386 442955
Saturday 14thSeptember 2024 on the River Avon, Evesham
Draw to be held at 8.30am – Fish from 10.00am to 3.00pm
- All Anglers must reside in the Parish or Ward they are representing. This is because it is an Inter-Parish Competition. Where a person resides between more than one Wychavon Parish/Ward, they may only play for the Parish or Ward in which they predominantly reside. Being on the electoral roll for a Parish does not in itself constitute residency.
- Competitors who are studying full-time at University or College will be eligible to compete for the Parish/Ward where they normally reside until they have completed their course.
- Where an ineligible competitor has been found to have breached these rules, then that Parish/Ward will forfeit all points gained in that event.
- The team details must be recorded on the team sheet, provided by WPGA, which was sent to Parishes that have entered. This is for Insurance and Health and Safety reasons.
- The team sheet must provide the following details for each team member: name, full address with post code, and it must be signed by each team member. By signing the team sheet, the team member confirms that he/she is medically able to take part in the event and is doing so at his/her own risk.
- For competitors under the age of 18 on the day of the event, the team sheet must be signed by their parent or guardian.
- The team sheet must be handed to a member of the Committee before the event starts.
If a team does not comply with the requests above or fails to provide the team’s details, then they will not be allowed to enter the event, unless there are circumstances which were beyond their control.
- Where a Parish/Ward has entered an event, but does not then take part, they will be deducted 2 points from their Parish/Ward’s overall score unless they have given a minimum of 48 hours’ notice of their non participation, or there were extenuating circumstances.
- Any queries prior to the event should be made to the Event Organiser or to the WPGA Secretary
- Following the event, any dispute or protest must be made by the Team Captain to the WPGA Secretary within 24 hours of the event. In the first instance, this can be done verbally, and only by the Team Captain, so that the facts can be established.
- If the matter is not resolved, then any further protest should be put in writing to the WPGA Secretary by the Parish Organiser, within 7 days of the event.
- Abuse of any of the people identified in the WPGA Abuse Policy will not be tolerated by the
Committee. (Team Captains and competitors must be made aware of the contents of this policy. This will be included in the pack sent out with the rules.) - Once a team has withdrawn from an event, they will not be allowed to re-enter.
- A team shall consist of three Anglers, although a team may consist of fewer than 3.
- Anglers must be a minimum of 16 years and must be able to swim.
- The competition will be fished on a Team basis on the waters of the River Avon. Meet at Hampton Café.
- Parish Captains must confirm to the WPGA Secretary, Sue Collins, susan.collins483@btinternet.com – 01905 841269 between Saturday 31st August and Saturday 7th September that they will be taking part. No confirmation should be made before 31st August.
- The river will be split into 3 sections. The Angler catching the most weight of fish in each section will be awarded One Point, the second Two and so on. The winning Parish will be that with the lowest number of points. Where points are equal, placings will be decided by the weight of fish caught by each Parish.
- Disabled anglers can be accommodated. However, the need for an accessible peg must be stated on the entry form.
- All contestants are to be in possession of an Environment Agency Fishing Rod. Licenses for 16-year-olds are free of charge.
- Keep nets for retaining fish shall be a minimum length of 6 foot by 18-inch diameter (183mm x 46mm).
- Fish of all species may be weighed in with the exception of Game Fish and Pike.
- Please Note. A Pike may be retained and kept in a second keep net but will not be weighed in.
- Competitors shall fish with 1 Rod, 1 Line and 1 Hook only. Spare Rods/Pole may be ready for use and to hand on the bank.
- Artificial bait and live bait are not permitted.
- Before the Starting Signal, no competitor must on any account ground-bait or loose feed the swim, but will be allowed to wet a line, plumb the depth and test the float, mix and wet groundbait, clear his/her ground of weed or obstruction and position his/her equipment.
- On no account must a feeder be used before the Starting Signal. A ledger weight may be cast to find depth and distance etc. An Angler will have 20 minutes to land a fish after the All-Out Signal.
Please Note:
Although ‘a pot’ is organised, involvement in the ‘pot’ is purely voluntary and no Angler should be put off entering because of this.
Parking Fees are payable at Evesham Town Waters. A Pay and Display Machine is in situ.
